How to add gift games to TikTok LIVE (OBS & LIVE Studio)

Interactive gift games look complicated from the outside — a game reacting live to gifts, follows, comments and likes sounds like something that needs a developer. In practice the whole category runs on one boring, reliable mechanism: a browser page rendered on top of your stream. If you can add a browser source in OBS, you can run a gift game. This guide walks through the mechanism, then the setup on PC streaming software and on TikTok LIVE Studio.

How gift-driven overlays work

A gift-driven game is a browser-based overlay connected to your TikTok LIVE. While you stream, the game listens for viewer actions — gifts, follows, comments and likes — and turns them into events on screen in real time: a gift drops a token, a follow spawns a marble, a chat keyword casts a vote, sustained likes fill a shared meter. Nothing about your account changes; the game is a layer your streaming setup renders, driven by what happens in the room.

Adding the overlay in OBS

Two habits save most support tickets: keep the browser source at the top of the scene's source list so the game renders above your camera, and use one dedicated scene per game format so switching formats is a scene switch, not a settings session.

If your machine is tight on resources, disable the source's audio unless the game's sound is part of your show, and let the source shut down when not visible — an idle overlay does not need to render.

TikTok's own desktop streaming app works on the same principle: it can render web content as a source in your scene. Add the overlay the same way — as a browser/web source sized to your canvas — and the game plays identically, because the game does not care which program renders it. Use whichever tool your stream already runs on; the overlay is deliberately neutral about it.

Running TeamTok on top of your own game

TeamTok flips the arrangement: instead of the game being the overlay, your game stays the show and TeamTok layers gift-driven events on top of your existing session — on titles like GTA V, Minecraft, PUBG, CS2, Fortnite or Valorant, and the list is an example rather than a limit. Your scene keeps its game capture; TeamTok's layer sits above it, reacting to the room. Mapping gifts without breaking the stream

The mapping editor is where formats live or die. Three rules from our own operations: map at least one very cheap gift to a visible event, so the long tail of the room can participate — a single Rose should do something. Give expensive gifts a moment, not a mess: one big acknowledgment beats fifty overlapping animations when a combo lands. And rehearse the mapping off-live once per format change; the middle of a raid is the wrong time to learn what a Money Gun triggers.
